Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are used to treat facial skin problems ranging from fine lines and wrinkles, dry patches and sun-damaged skin to deep folds, acne scars and pigmentation problems. Generally, chemicals applied to the face dissolve layers of skin to reveal newer, tighter and more youthful layers.

Cosmeceuticals

For most people, the first course of action used to treat skin problems is over-the-counter topical creams and ointments. When these fail, the next level of treatment is cosmeceuticals: prescription ointments, creams, cleaners and lotions that can augment natural collagen, stimulate skin regeneration, and/or help retain skin elasticity.

Juvederm© (Cosmetic Filler)

One of the most popular forms of treatment for reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and create smoother, younger skin is injections. In an office-based procedure, the physician uses fine needles to insert a filler into the skin to add volume, replace collagen and/or stimulate natural collagen and new skin cell growth.

Laser Therapy

Light or heat emitted by lasers can produce certain reactions in the human body that can help resolve some cosmetic concerns. In the field of dermatology, lasers can offer options for the removal of unwanted hair to the treatment of varicose veins on the face.

The LightSheer laser system from Lumenis is considered the Gold Standard for permanent hair reduction. Oakview Dermatology uses the Lumenis LightSheer Diode laser to remove unwanted hair faster, with less discomfort, and more reliably than any other method.

The VBeam Pulsed Dye Laser emits a burst of light tuned precisely to target the red pigment in blood and blood vessels without harming other parts of the skin. Therefore, this laser can remove dilated blood vessels while leaving the surrounding skin intact. A brief pulse of a cold spray precedes the pulse of light, further protecting the skin from injury.
