Our Providers

Dawn Sammons, D.O.

Board Certified Dermatologist

Dr. Dawn Sammons is a 2003 graduate of Ohio University's College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her dermatology residency in June of 2008. She is an associate clinical professor at both Ohio University's College of Osteopathic Medicine and West Virginia's School of Osteopathic Medicine. She has lived in Southeast Ohio for over 20 years and is pleased to be able to serve the communities in this area.

Dr. Sammons is devoted to the study and treatment of all dermatologic diseases of the skin, hair, and nails. She has a particular interest in skin cancer and dermatologic surgery. Our state of the art office equipment allows for us to do all but the most complicated dermatologic surgeries in-house, under local anesthesia. In addition, we are also pleased to offer photo-dynamic therapy for the treatment of actinic keratoses and laser therapy for hair removal and vein therapy.

Nathan Misel, PA-C

Dermatology Physician Assistant

Dr. Sammons brought on Dermatology Physician Assistant, Nathan Misel, in an effort to extend our ability to provide dermatologic care for the patients here in Southeast Ohio. Nathan joined our team in October of 2008 and has become a valuable asset to our organization. He graduated from Marietta College with a master's degree in Physician Assistant studies in 2007. He did clinical training in multiple areas of specialty medicine, including Dermatology. Prior to joining our team, Nathan spent time working in a private dermatology office and a local ER. He is certified to treat patients under the supervision of Dr. Sammons.

Adriana Walsh, PA-C 

Dermatology Physician Assistant

 Adriana Walsh joined Oakview Dermatology in 2011, bringing with her 7 years of medical and cosmetic Dermatology experience from her previous practice in Tallahassee, Florida. She graduated from the University of Florida in 2004 with her Master of Physician Assistant Studies.  She is a current member of the Society of Dermatological Physician Assistants and has completed several training conferences relating but not limited to skin cancer and the screening process. Adriana’s true passion lies within diagnosing skin cancer and treating it at its earliest stage. She is eager to build new relationships and offer her Dermatology services to the community of Athens and surrounding areas.
